AFS Report 2022-23
Velur Grama Panchayat Annual Financial Statement (AFS) for the financial year 2022–23 is the official financial report that explains the Panchayat’s income, expenditure, assets, liabilities, grants, and development activities during the year. The report reflects the Panchayat’s financial management and its focus on public welfare, infrastructure development, and local governance.
According to the Income & Expenditure Statement, the Panchayat recorded a total income of approximately ₹16.63 crore and a total expenditure of about ₹15.82 crore during 2022–23, resulting in a surplus of around ₹92.13 lakh.
The Panchayat earned revenue mainly through property tax, profession tax, license fees, user charges, government grants, and scheme funds. Major income sources included Development Funds, Finance Commission Grants, MGNREGS funds, housing schemes, and social welfare grants.
Expenditure was mainly incurred for road construction, drinking water projects, sanitation programmes, street lighting, housing assistance, agriculture and livestock development, healthcare services, education, Anganwadi activities, and social welfare schemes for senior citizens, widows, differently abled persons, and economically weaker sections.
The Balance Sheet as on 31-03-2023 shows total assets and liabilities of approximately ₹15.77 crore. The Panchayat maintained cash and bank balances of around ₹2.24 crore at the end of the financial year.
The report also highlights investments in public infrastructure, including roads, bridges, streetlights, water supply systems, sanitation facilities, Anganwadi buildings, public offices, and waste management projects.
Overall, the 2022–23 AFS indicates that Velur Grama Panchayat effectively utilized its financial resources for development projects, public services, and social welfare programmes while maintaining transparency and accountability in financial administration.
